Headband

You need only a few steps to make a simple headband for fall.

  1. Measure you head circuit. Write it down.
  2. Get as many stitches as to create a certain width. I did 14 cm. It only depands on you vision.
  3. Knit through the whole project until it measures the required length. I have 40cm.
  4. After that get 6 stitches and knit/purl through 10cm. Sew the finished piece across the heandband.

Recently I’ve been working on an endless scarf with a hood. So it will appear on my blog in some time. Before, it was a good quality sweater, so the wool is of high quality.

How to make your yarn straight

If you ever had a sweater that you didn’t like and you finally unraveled it, the yarn was for sure a mess. There is a great way, my mom thaught me, to make it straight.

you need:

  • a pot with a lid (or two pots to cover each other)
  • colander

  1. First boil some water in a pot
  2. Place the colander on a pot and put the ball of yarn into it
  3. Cover the pot and wait until the yarn is straight

After taking it from the colander you have to only roll up the same ball once again. In this way you will receive some nice straight yarn ready to knit:)

You can wear it in two ways.

Sweater pillows

There are two ways you can do such pillows. Both of them involve using old sweaters:

1. Use the yarn from the old sweater. Take the number of stitches that will cover the pillow. It depands on how big the pillow is. When it comes to the patterns, the sky is the limit. However, the most popular are the cables because of the structures, but you can use any you want. To finish the cover make some cm of knit/purl stitches. Think about the buttons also. You can make a button hole by ending 3 stitches and putting 3 more in the same place when you do another row. Place some buttons and now you can close the pillow. For more info write to me:)

2. You don’t have to unravel the sweater. Take the old sweater. Turn it inside out and cover the pillow. Then secure it with some pins. Next cut the excesive material and sew the pillow. Think about placing your sweater in a way to make the lower part the place of putting the buttons. The buttons can be only decorative and you can do just like me: sew the pillow without placing the hole for the button.
